Split End hair – Fix it Early

Split end is the most dreaded, fearful enemy of hair. The major external factors responsible for split end hair are the heat styling and repeated salon services. They damage the protective outer layer of the cuticle. Once the internal structure is exposed hair becomes weak, dehydrated and damaged, causing split ends. If the split end is not treated on time, they have the ability to travel up the length of hair and ultimately destroy the structure of the entire hair strand. In most of the cases snaps and breakages happen when you try to brush out hair that is roughed up from a towel-dry, inexpensive blow-dryer which may dangerously overheat over time and burn ends into splits. To prevent snaps and breakages of hair a natural hair conditioner must be applied in the shower and a wide-tooth comb should be run through hair until all the tangles are out. Higher the heat, the more likely the proteins that make up hair will weaken, leading to split ends and other breakage. OK The two important vitamins that are essential for your hair are Folic Acid and Biotin. They are responsible for increasing hair health, length and thickness. The main sources of Folic Acid are Oranges, Green leafy vegetables and wheat. Biotin strengthens both hair and nail and requires Carbohydrates, Fats and proteins for its metabolism. Biotin is present in Lentils, Brown rice, peas, walnuts and sunflower oil.

Precaution:

Your hair dryer should have a nozzle to control and direct the flow of air. b) Always dry your hair in a downward direction and dry completely with a round brush. In this way, one spends far less time with intense heat straight on the hair. c) If possible it is better if 90 percent drying is done in air before picking up the blow-dryer. And of course, the best option would be to dry naturally if you can. The major reasons for split end are hair color, highlights, straightening, and perms because they all cause trauma that can result in large number of split ends. The best way to treat split end is to have regular hair cuts because longer you wait to trim, greater are the chances of major split ends and higher are the chances of split end traveling up the hair shaft. Frequently trimming the hair helps in longer and healthier hair.
